Happy New Years Eve!!

Happy New Years Eve Saints!!!

Today we want to share with you a story of someone in Brazil. One day a couple of years ago, a mother had a child born with Down Syndrome. As the doctors tried to explain the ups and downs of Down Syndrome the mother told the doctor she would pray to God and He would heal her son. The doctor told her it wasn't possible for he spoke of the science diagnosis. The mother thought for sure that her family would back her up in praying, but she was wrong. Although this mother had a ton of resistance towards her belief that prayer could heal her child, she prayed anyways.

Every year for 4 years the mother would pray and on the sons birthday make a cake for Jesus and pray that He heal her son in the next year. Nothing happened for 4 years, but on his 5th birthday things began to change and by his 6th birthday the son was completely HEALED!!!

Now that is a God thing. Remember in 2013 that God holds the big picture and we should take everything to him in Prayer(Philippians 4:6). We may not see our answer right away, but we must remember God has it under control. Something hard for all of those control freaks out there!

Have a blessed New Year!!

Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Merry Christmas!! It is so exciting that Christmas Eve and Marvelous Monday are falling on the same day! Today we wish to share with you two very important verses in the Christmas story. Luke 2:11-12 says, "The Savior-yes, the Messiah, the Lord-has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying... in a manger."

These verses point out the importance of Jesus Christ and his birth. They are the sole reason we celebrate Christmas, regardless of what today's media tells us. So remember today and tomorrow as you are opening gifts and eating delicious Christmas dinner that years ago our Savior was born and layed in a feeding trough filled with hay. The ultimate Christmas gift, the best gift we could ever give to our families, friends, and co-workers, is the one that was born on Christmas day.

Have a Merry CHRISTmas!!

One Day Late

Hey guys!! Sorry we forgot to post yesterday's Marvelous Monday! So here is a Terrific Tuesday for you!!!

We are releasing the dates for our 2013 Mission Trips to the great state of Alaska. Now keep in mind these are tentative, but these are the dates we are shooting for.

April 12-21
-This will strictly be a work trip to get as much as the parsonage finished as possible! So put on your working gloves!!

June 14-24
-This trip will be our Vacation Bible School trip and we wil

l probably take a few people to finish the parsonage up, depending on how the April trip goes.

August 4-11
-This is what we are calling our "winterize" trip! Alaska obviously gets pretty cold during the winter, so we are going to go help get the town ready and chop some fire wood! We might even pick a few of those delicious Alaskan blueberries!

Well there they are! We hope that you all find this as exciting as we do! If you have any questions about anything feel free to message/contact us and we will lead you to one of our core leaders.

The application will be put up soon and be looking back to find out dates on our January meeting that you can attend if you are interested in sharing the Gospel in Alaska!

Marvelous Monday!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!

We are so excited to share with you our first Marvelous Monday!! Now what a Marvelous Monday is, is something to bring a little light to the normally dreaded Monday.  God made Mondays, so they must be good for something right? Well every Monday we are going to share with you a little information on the Bush Alaska Missions or something that we think is cool!

Todays MM is a little information about a t-shirt we will be selling!  This t-shirt will be sold by each of our team members to help them raise funds for their mission trip to Alaska. The shirts will be sold for $25 dollars and of course higher donations are accepted.  The majority of the money will go to the team member selling the shirt and a little of it will help to pay for each t-shirt.  It will be the team members job to get it to you if you purchase one!

We hope you like the design! A mock shirt of it will be added to the blog once it is received from the company.

Come back and check out the blog later this week to see about future trips for 2013! We can't wait to let you in on all we've been planning!

Blessings,

Welcome to the BAM Blog!

"To the lover of wilderness, Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world."

John Muir hit the nail on the head with this quote in so many different ways.  Alaska is so much more than what someone sees on a cruise or visiting the top tourist spots. Alaska is the Alaskan Bush, looking around you and seeing nothing but mountains, and driving down dirt roads on a four wheeler.  I was able to experience this gloriousness when I went to Alaska this past summer to help lead a Vacation Bible School in a remote area of Alaska.  Upon returning myself, Bro. Mike, and Ms. Lisa have all committed to a 3 year, and hopefully many more, commitment to Alaska.  We have several different events we are planning through the Bush Alaska Missions(BAM) and can't wait to tell you all about them!

Our teams purpose is to bring hope to the hopeless.  We take 1 Corinthians 9:22 and 23 to heart when it says, "To those who are weak I became weak. That was to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that in all possible ways I might save some. I do all of that because of the good news. And I want to share in its blessings." These verses represent our goal for Alaska and our heart for Alaska.  Our prayer is that Christ make us weak so that His plans be seen through and accomplished.

John Muir also said that Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world.  I love this statement because Alaska is unlike any other place in the world.  It holds so many different people groups, religions, and traditions that the average person does not know about.  BAM'g goal is to reach those people and inform the people in the Lower 48 of the prayer needs that must be met.

So why share all of this information with you? We need help. We need physical support, prayer support, and financial support.  These trips are unlike any trip you will ever adventure to and are life changing as long as we allow God to do what He does best, work through us.  Our plans for the 2013 year are to go back in April to help finish the parsonage for the church we work with. After that trip we are hoping to return in June and lead a Vacation Bible School for a week, while having some guys add a few finishing touches to the parsonage.  We are also wanting to send a group the first week of August to help "winterize" the community we have been working in the past 5 years.  These 3 trips are crucial in maintaining the relationship with the people we have met and continue to build their trust.

This is just the basic information that we are wanting to get out to our Christian family in hopes that you will join us in praying for this ministry, along with praying if you are suppose to accompany us.  If God has put it on your heart to reach people with the Gospel, have an adventure, and be changed by helping change others this might be the trip for you.  So keep looking back at the blog for dates of our trips and applications!

Blessings,
